Another view of the DSS-43 antenna showing the sub-reflector near prime focus above the dish and the multiple primary feed system at the center of the dish. Radio waves reflect off the main large dish and are focussed toward the sub-reflector above the dish and then get reflected back down (& further focussed) into the primary feed system.
