What is left of the 26-inch Yale-Columbia Refractor at Mt Stromlo Observatory. It was built in 1923-24 for Yale University in Johannesburg, South Aftrica. It moved to Mt Stromlo in 1952 when light pollution became too great. It was the largest refractor in Australia before it was destroyed in the January 18, 2003 firestorm. The telescope was an f-16 on an English equatorial mount.
