- Renegade Culture---find your inner Renegade! This site is designed especially for first-year students making the transition from high school to college. You'll find links to campus events, clubs, tips for success, and more. Plenty of studies have shown that students who get involved with campus life outside of the classroom are FAR more likely to hang in there and graduate. And graduating can make a big difference in your future earnings!
- Financial Aid is available for everyone. Don't let money be an obstacle to getting an education---A LOT of money from the state and federal government goes un-used! The link will take you to the BC Financial Aid office. There are scholarships available including for attending CSU and UC schools as well as a number of private schools. Don't let money be an obstacle to getting an education!
- Financial Aid emergency book loans available while you wait for the full financial aid funds to arrive. The processing time with the Business Office is usually 2-3 days. Go to Financial Aid (second floor of east half of Student Services building) ASAP and they will try to help you. Do note that they have a HUGE amount of students applying for aid so you might have to wait in line for a while before being served. For the future, apply in JANUARY for financial aid, not during the summer, so you can get the funds in a more timely manner.
- BC Transfer Services Website. If you are thinking about getting a bachelor's degree in as short a time as possible, check out this site. Did you know that Bakersfield College has guaranteed admission programs with UC Davis, UCSB, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, UC Merced and CSU Northridge?
- Bakersfield College Student Government Association. Find out about the clubs and pantry on campus. They also have a spot on Facebook.

- The "X-Factor" to success in college by Alan Arcuri (links appears in a new window). "This brief module is written for high school seniors and college freshmen. Many high school graduates believe that college is the 13th grade. True, college follows high school, but in many key areas they are as different as chalk and cheese. They have very different norms, values, and expectations." Select the link to read more in a new window... If for
some reason the site is down, go to the local copy.
- Study Skills mini-classes (AC DV 70 series) are
