Tall image! Here's a view from the feedhorns on up to the sub-reflector at top. Fans mounted above the feedhorn covers keep the feedhorns free of debris and birds. Further above is the Prime Focus receiver with "GBT" black letters painted on the side. The sub-reflector does not need to be repainted as often as the main dish since dirt streaks do not noticeably degrade its reflectivity at radio wavelengths.
